Breaking Ground on a Full Backyard Pool Build

Breaking Ground on a Full Backyard Pool Build image

Every great backyard starts with a first dig. We broke ground on a full pool build - and this is what day one looks like. Raw dirt, layout stakes, a Kubota excavator making its first cuts, and a crew that knows exactly what they're doing.

Here's the thing most people don't think about: the work that happens before the pool ever takes shape is what determines how well everything holds up long-term. Getting the excavation right, setting the grade correctly, and planning the surrounding hardscape from the start - that's what separates a backyard that lasts from one that causes headaches down the road.

This yard is a blank canvas right now. But that's exactly how we like it. Starting from scratch means we control every detail - from how the pool shell sits in the ground to how the patio, retaining elements, and surrounding hardscape all tie together. No shortcuts, no working around someone else's mistakes.

Hardscaping around a pool isn't just decorative. It's structural. The right materials and grading keep water where it belongs, protect your investment, and make the space actually functional for years to come. We're building all of that in from day one on this one.

We'll be sharing updates as this one comes together. The finished space is going to be something.
